Can I try the font before buying?
Yes. Use the trial version before buying to test spacing, scale, logos, website mockups, and client or internal presentations. Trial fonts are for testing, not final production.
What is included when I buy a paid font?
The available package for that release: desktop fonts, web fonts, self-hosting, variable axes and styles, OpenType features, and the formats prepared for that font. We do not split paid variable fonts into small packages.
Which license should I choose for normal client work?
Choose Creator. It covers the designer or studio doing normal client work. If the client will install, host, edit with, or keep using the font files directly, the client should hold a license or you should buy it for them.
Can nonprofit organizations use Student?
Yes. Student includes nonprofit organizations and creators working for nonprofits. If a nonprofit project grows into large commercial-scale use, contact us and we will keep it fair.
Do you track visitors, computers, or printed items?
No. There are no counters, tracking scripts, reporting dashboards, subscription traps, or per-computer stress. Choose the tier that honestly fits the scale of the project.
When do I need Scale?
Use Scale when the project needs Creator rights with no limit: high-volume print or web, large brand systems, major campaigns, apps, SaaS, product embedding, broadcast, streaming, or enterprise use.
What happens for OEM use or redistribution?
OEM use and redistribution are separate from fixed-price Scale. They need a custom Scale invoice from $2,000 because the license must describe how the font files are bundled, accessed, or redistributed.
Why are some fonts paid and others open source?
If a font is built on open-source work, we commonly keep it open too. Open font releases such as SquareBot Sans use the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Paid fonts fund the drawing, engineering, testing, documentation, and maintenance that make future releases possible.
What if the price is still too high?
Contact us and explain the context. We can grant the right to use the font when the normal price does not fit the project.
Can AP.CX help with an open-source project?
Contact us if you have an open-source project involving fonts or AP.CX tools. If it fits, we may be happy to participate.
